Thinking about 9/11 and praying for the families still affected, 24 years later

Hey everyone, I’ve been feeling a little heavy today thinking about 9/11, especially with the anniversary tomorrow. I remember how terrifying it was…how the whole world seemed to stop for a moment. Even now, it still feels unreal in some ways.

So many families are still living with the aftermath. Parents, children, spouses…The grief didn’t end when the cameras stopped rolling or the memorials were built. It’s something they carry every day.

I am praying this Patriot Day prayer today and tomorrow in remembrance of 9/11:

Heavenly Father,
Today we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We lift up the families who still carry the weight of grief, and we thank You for the bravery of first responders who gave so much. Let us not forget the cost of evil or the comfort of Your presence in tragedy.
May our hearts remain tender, our nation humble, and our trust in You unshaken.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you’re reading this and still carry personal memories or losses from that day, I’m praying for you too.

:folded_hands: Wonderful prayer. So long ago but still we continue to honor the bravery of those first responders and the lives that were lost that day.

So many things have changed in our world since that day, but yet, God remains in control of our world, our country, and our lives. Thank you for the reminder. :folded_hands:
