UFO's in the Bible

Establishing a Baseline - (Scripture References: King James Bible)

1 Peter 3:15 - “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”

  • Aliens from other habitable worlds showing up or even supposedly putting life here spins a completely different narrative than what’s recorded in the bible with the Genesis account of creation.

Matthew 18:16 - “But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”

  • If only one person said they saw something in the sky they couldn’t explain, it would be easily dismissible

  • There have been hundreds of individual reports of UFOs, with potentially 8 million or more sightings from 1700 BC to now - so it needs to be taken seriously

  • Mocking someone who claims to have had an experience, especially with no investigation into the matter, is inappropriate

Isaiah 28:22 - “Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.”

  • Mockery alienates the person reporting the experience and shuts down any further discussion that could otherwise lead them to the truth, for which this article is dedicated to the discovery of

  • It also makes a person confident in their position when they have no real authority on the matter, “lest your bands be made strong”

Romans 14:13 - “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.”

UFO’s - Type 1, the Cylinder

Zechariah 5:1-11

[1] Then I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a flying roll.

[2] And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.

  • Many UFO sightings have been recorded as a flying tube going through the sky and at times, passing through objects, and described as “Cigar Like”

[3] Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.

  • “Goeth forth over the face of the whole earth” - suggests that it flies

[4] I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

  • It’s the Lord who brings it forth, and it’s a thing that’s outfitted for destruction of evil doers

One such reported sighting reported by several eye witnesses was the Tunguska event on June 30, 1908 over Siberia. There are historical eyewitness accounts that describe the falling object using words like “tube,” “pipe,” or “cylinder.” Strangely, there was also no impact crater and no debris as would be expected from an airburst meteor.

UFO’s - Type 2, the Ephah or “Flying Saucer”

[5] Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.

[6] And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.

  • An Ephah is a common unit of measurement throughout the Old Testament.

Leviticus 19:36 - “Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.”

Exodus 16:36 - “Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.”

Upon running a Google search of ancient ephah, you may come across an image of something that has a wide, flattened, saucer-like body with a raised, cylindrical opening or spout at the top center that looks very much like the described “flying saucer” objects eye witnesses report seeing.

Back to Zechariah 5:7-11

[7] And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.

[8] And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof.

[9] Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

  • There is a possibility that the fabled Sirens / Banshee’s / Mermaids etc have some relation to the UFO’s, which commonly depict some sort of human animal hybrids. There are over 100 references to other such creatures around the world.

  • The woman in the midst of the ephah is referred to as the personification of wickedness, but the two women with wings as a stork who carry the ephah are not identified as angels or wickedness specifically.

[10] Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah?

[11] And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base."

  • Shinar is in modern day Iraq / Kuwait - ancient Babylonian territory

Welcome to the forum, you’ve posted an interesting list of events where UAP’s have been seen ( (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena):, but what you haven’t supplied is how these witnesses have responded to the phenomena.

Every incident whether a supernatural dream, vision, apparition etc produces a reaction either of increased interest in God or a decrease interest in God.

In fact any thing that causes the witness to be interested in God can be attributed to God and anything that causes the witness to move away from God is not from God.

Please before you or any one responses by attributing UAPs to God please investigate Creation.com, use the search engine to look up aliens or ufo.

Welcome @AngelsForOfficers. Not really. If I make a Ford. Sell you a Ford. I’m not going to give you a Chevy Manuel. A Chevy is not going to be made in my Ford plant.

Now, let me be one hundred percent honest. Look up at the night sky, if you are somewhere you can do so without light pollution. Every star you see is a Sun, and around all the billions of Suns, there are planets. Out of all those Billions of suns and trillions of planets, we are it?

I think that is 1- arrogant. B- is mathematically impossible. 3- a complete, illogical waste. Does this, or would this shake my belief in God if a Mothership showed up one day? No, of course not. If God created us and the vast universe, then He created them. Mankind created Fords and Chevys. What could God not create Humans and ???ians? Will we ever meet? Who knows, if it is in God’s will, yes. If not, no.

For me it’s quite simple. I believe the Word of God, so I know He is the Creator and it was God who created mankind. That makes it easy. Life was not planted here by aliens. That contradicts the Bible and the Bible is my source for truth.

As to the rest of it, we’ll have to wait and see. We know that a great delusion is coming and many will be deceived. Some well known Christians believe that AI may be behind that deception and some lean towards the alien phenomena in our headlines. Neither viewpoint is engraved by them, but they are abiding by a watchful stance.

Is the Bible speaking about aliens as you seem to see? I doubt it very much, but don’t neglect the possibility. I’m not required to have an opinion at this time. Any further information we’re given must line up with Scripture. It’s not a concern for those who know what they believe and if what they believe is true to the Word.
There are Christians far more educated and more knowledgeable than me. It is them who will speak out truth when the deception comes. The most I can do is influence those within my sphere.
So I am not worried and I don’t give it much attention until it becomes impossible not to. When that time comes, I will be comparing it to Scripture.

Peter—

Thanks for your post. I just read that scientists/astronomers believe there are 2 trillion GALAXIES in the Universe! Each one of those Galaxies has a trillion stars (some more, some less of course)

"The observable universe contains at least 2 trillion galaxies, far more than the previously estimated 100 billion.

Current Estimates

Recent research indicates that the observable universe contains around 2 trillion galaxies, which is roughly ten times more than earlier estimates of 100 billion galaxies (Conselice, University of Nottingham) The Xerte ProjectThe Xerte Project+1. This estimate comes from combining deep Hubble Space Telescope images with theoretical models that account for faint, distant galaxies that are too small or dim to be directly observed The Xerte ProjectThe Xerte Project+1. Observations from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) suggest that the actual number could be even higher, potentially between 6 and 20 trillion galaxies, as many galaxies remain beyond our current detection limits".

If there are at least 2 trillion Galaxies, each with about a trillion stars----what are the odds that we are the only planet in the whole Universe with intelligent life? I have to agree with you—it’s very arrogant to think so.

here is a secular set of reasons why we have not been visited by aliens:-

cutting to the chase:-

  1. Space is just too big, and it would take way too long for any aliens to reach us. Even if travel at the speed of light were possible, the phenomenon of time dilation means time would move slower for the aliens on their lightning-fast spacecraft, so interstellar travel would make them “time exiles” on their home planet, so they probably wouldn’t make the trip.
  2. It would take too much fuel. The energy requirements for such a trip are just too vast, making it basically impossible.
  3. Our atmosphere and environmental conditions could be toxic to alien life. After all, who knows how they evolved? Maybe oxygen is corrosive to them and life-sustaining to us.

Of course it assumes aliens do exist something that requires more faith than to believe God created everything.

THE GREAT MANURE CRISIS OF 1894

“In 1894, a sensational prediction was made in The Times, suggesting that in 50 years, every street in London would be buried under nine feet of manure. This dire forecast highlighted the urgency of the situation and the perceived inability of urban planners to address the problem effectively.”

I pasted this as an example of basing things on current technology. Back in 1894 they really thought the worst could happen with horse manure (lol)----because they had no idea of the technology about to explode in the world with automobiles. In the article above they give (3) reasons why aliens most likely haven’t come to earth. But this is based on technology we now have. We simply do not know if they may have discovered alternate means to travel great distances through space (like wormholes, etc). “It would take too much fuel”. Again–we have no idea what alien life may have discovered and implemented. Modern day submarines run on atomic energy (something subs in the 1940’s knew nothing about yet). The third point could be valid and H.G. Wells used that in two of his books about aliens dying from the common cold, etc. But I truly do think we need to realize that aliens could be far more advanced than us and may have found ways to travel, and use fuel that is exceedingly efficient, and also to protect themselves from diseases and our atmosphere if not hospitable to them.

I love the idea of the streets of London being buried under feet of manure !

I also love the idea mentioned in the article of why would a civilization able to travel the vast distances in space, solve the need for unimaginable quantities of fuel and protect their spaceships from the consequences of dust striking it at lightspeed.

But the greatest problem is like the US navy stopping at pacific islands during WW2 and stating the ’ cargo cults ’ across those islands.

What use were those islanders to the US military in the pacific campaign?

Did they in any real way influence the course of the war in the pacific? Did they influence American policy?

People living in a stone age society with subsistence farming were an obstacle not a valued assistance.

This is the comparison that should be made between a civilization with technology so advanced we think its magic and our civilization still trying not to destoy our selves with our technology.

The ultimate rebuttal is. Alins depend on evolution for there existence and there is no evolution.

I feel like people should stop digging though to Bible to find codes and guess what things mean. God wants us to understand what we need too in His word on the surface.

Thanks for this. I could not stop laughing at it. I needed that today.

Very true. Think of this. From Adam and Eve, till oh say 1926?? It was Horse and carriage, and fire for light. In the last 100 years, we went from that to laser beams and space travel. Albeit slow for us, what happens if we are given another 100 years? There are people on this planet who witnessed all this. Computers used to take up two full rooms. Now? Everyone has one in their pockets. Some are good for making phone calls, too.

If we cannot even say, for 100 percent, there is no life out there in the trillions of stars and planets, how in the world can we say we understand what they are capable of? How long may they have been around? How many 100 years have passed for them? You get the point.
Peter

Yes, God gave us the Word for our lives. Yes, there are things in it that we may never understand why. Perhaps even the how. I believe God made the Word easily understandable for all. But there is nothing wrong with deep diving into the Word. Sadly, I feel I could be wrong, but I feel most people will still be babes in Christ when their time comes. That is no one’s fault but their own.
Peter

Trying to understand what you mean by this. I do not believe in evolution either, but I don’t see how aliens “depend” on evolution for their existence?

God created all living things, and through Adams fall Allhave sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.

This means if God created intelligent life some where else in the universe, they too are fallen and need to heard and accept the good news of Jesus.

How are they going to hear?

Do you really believe that God would create life that will be condemned by sin without any possibility of ever hearing about Jesus.

I do not belief God is like that, which means the only intelligent life is found on earth, Christianity by this argument says there are no aliens living among the stars.

Which in tern means to believe in aliens one has to belief that they evolved.

Very well stated, Brother! Man was created in the image of God. I often ponder on all the things we made out of the ground He created. It seems endless! How much more has He created knowing His ways are higher than our ways? Like from as high as the heavens are above the earth.
Yet, if there are other ‘beings’ out there, I don’t think they’ll be visiting us soon. Satan fell to the earth and not other planets.

Again I ponder the other way too. Such as the Anthropic Principle. That the entire universe was created specifically for life here on earth. Kind of like a giant sophisticated time piece to show the great lengths our Father would go showing His love toward us.

Once again, if I might tax your time reading my foolishness, It could be that if Adam never sinned, God Himself may have prepared the entire universe to spread His Glory. For us to ‘colonize’. I mean Adam and Eve would of lived eternally, God told them to spread out and multiply, the knowledge and wisdom gained would seem overwhelming to our understanding and the earth would have given up it’s bounty because it wasn’t under the curse.

The truth in my heart is I DON’T KNOW one way or the other. Yet, I could believe in either of these. Love(God’s Love) believes in all things and all of these are of good report in my peanut-sized brain.

If you read this ranting on and on, Thanks!

Do we know what happened on Mars? There appear to be rivers and possible structures. There was once theorized to have an atmosphere. Recently, someone said that Martians may indeed live beneath the surface. Do we know? Nope. Why? Because we are not there.

What about Europa? Europa may have the essential ingredients for life. Do we know? No, we are not there. What about the fact that Astronomers have confirmed over 6,100 planets orbiting other stars, with statistical models suggesting billions of rocky, Earth-sized planets may exist in habitable zones where liquid water could persist

Some of the most promising candidates include Proxima Centauri b, a super-Earth in the habitable zone of the nearest star to our solar system, and TRAPPIST-1e, part of a system of Earth-sized planets about 40 light-years away

These planets are considered potentially habitable because they orbit within the “Goldilocks zone,” where temperatures allow liquid water to exist. Recent observations using the James Webb Space Telescope have detected chemical compounds on exoplanets that, on Earth, are produced only by living organisms. For example, the atmosphere of K2-18b, located 124 light-years away, contains DMS and DMDS, which are considered potential biosignatures. While these findings are not yet definitive, they represent the strongest evidence to date suggesting that life might exist beyond our solar system.

Let’s say God created Adam and Eve here on earth. Then He created Adorian and Evatute on TRAPPIST-1e. We know what happened with Adam and Eve. Perhaps Adorian and Evatute got it right? Perhaps they were even worse. Perhaps they were and are completely different from us. We do not know, because we are not there. Nor are we likely to be.

If this is true. Did God create them? Of course. Did Jesussloha visit them? Perhaps. Does it matter to us either way? No. We have our own manual for us. Adma fell, causing sin and death HERE. Out there? Who knows. God knows. Will we ever? God knows that too.

How do we know that other beings have “fallen”? Yes–mankind has fallen. But that doesn’t mean that other beings God may have created are “fallen” also. What if the earth is like a petrie dish–God has quarantined it so sin will not spread to the Universe. There could be myriads of other created beings that are not fallen at all. How do we know? Your thinking is a bit flawed I think—intelligent life could be all throughout the Universe. I’m not sure why you think because man has fallen that everyone in the Universe would have to fall also. No—I don’t think so.

I have to remind: I recently saw an article where they say scientists believe that the Universe could contain 2 TRILLION GALAXIES. That is GALAXIES–not STARS. Each Galaxy could contain a trillion stars. Think of that! 2 trillion GALAXIES! And can we honestly think that WE ALONE are the only life in the Universe??? Would God create that many Galaxies and NOT create life in some of them? I believe there may be MANY different types of beings in the Universe. That’s just me–but I find it hard to believe there aren’t.

Interesting. The Bible opens with the creation of the heavens and the EARTH and ends with a new heaven and a new EARTH. Kind of like an instruction manual on a product but the product in question is EARTH.

C.S. Lewis believed that there was life on other planets. When you read his Space Trilogy (I know it is science fiction—but he had a way of making many of his characters “types” of things in the Bible–example: Aslan in the Narnia Chronicles was a type of Christ). He kind of ascribed to the thought as I shared, where earth is like a “petrie dish”. It is closed off so that sin will not affect the rest of the Universe. The first book is called “Out of the Silent Planet” and it deals with earth–a fallen world.

The second book is called Perelandra which is Mars. It has it’s own distinct species of beings. We know now that Mars does not have living inhabitants (at least that we can see) but I do believe that there is life elsewhere in the Universe. Genesis deals with EARTH. But one little sentence says “He made the stars also”. We now know this includes 2 TRILLION Galaxies. So, the Bible deals with our planet and the fallen race living here. But it is very possible there are numerous other life forms God has created, and intelligent ones too.

As near as I can tell, there are three messages within every text. The Logos (written Word) and it’s message on the surface. Then there’s the Rhema’s which is the spoken word of God which the Holy Spirit uses to speak to you personally. Then what is the underlying spiritual principle being spoken of and how can we apply it to our every day life.

You should not stay stuck in the Logos word. There is much more than that. Which is why He instructs us to meditate upon His word. That’s how we go deeper.
