Ways to Celebrate God's Love This Valentine's Day

I think Valentine’s Day can be a great opportunity to celebrate the love of God in Christ. I’m especially looking for ways to share God’s love with my young children and, through my love, show them how much they are loved by the Lord.

We’ve made paper Valentines and they’re exchanging Valentines in school, but I want to make it more meaningful than that. I heard of a trend that some parents put paper hearts on their kid’s bedroom door and write something they love about their child. I like that idea.

Any other Valentine’s Day traditions you and your family have loved and found meaningful?

That’s a nice idea. You can also give them a verse in a translation that they use or are familiar with. Something they can put in their Bible as a bookmark or keepsake. Examples are:

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21

”Whenever I am in trouble, I cry out to you, because you will answer me.” Psalm 86:7

“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17
