I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much we all need encouragement from God’s Word. Life can feel heavy in so many different ways, and sometimes just one verse can steady your heart and remind you that the Lord is near. When I’m discouraged, tired, or uncertain, going back to Scripture helps me refocus on what is true instead of what I’m feeling in the moment.
There are so many verses in the Bible that bring comfort, strength, and hope. I wanted to share a few that encourage me and help me remember God’s faithfulness:
When I feel afraid, God reminds us that we are not facing life alone. Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
When I need peace, Jesus gives peace this world can’t offer. John 16:33: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
When I feel weary, God never grows tired of helping His children. Matthew 11:28: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
When I need strength to keep going, sometimes we do not have strength in ourselves, but the Lord gives what we lack. Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
When I need hope for tomorrow, even hard seasons are not outside of God’s care and purpose. Romans 15:13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
When I need to remember God is working - even when I cannot see it clearly, the Lord is still faithful. Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
When my heart feels troubled - God’s mercies are fresh every morning, no matter what yesterday held. Lamentations 3:22-23: “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
I’d love to hear from you all. What are the most encouraging Bible verses to you? Are there certain Scriptures the Lord has used to strengthen you during difficult seasons?
