We’re trying to make prayer for our kids feel natural at the end of the day. What words or verses have become a part of your family’s routine? Do you have a go-to bedtime prayer with your kids or grandkids?
I have a short blessing for each of my boys I say with them each night. These include:
“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
And Psalm 4:8:
“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
The prayer/blessing for each of them also includes a short list of Godly affirmations such as “You are kind, you are brave, you are a blessing,” and then I say, “But most of all, you are so loved and wanted in this family.”
