The Bible seems to describe Judas’ death in more than one way, which can feel confusing at first.
In one account, he dies after hanging himself. In another, it describes him falling and dying in a different way. Some people see these as separate descriptions of the same event, while others think they highlight different details from different perspectives.
For me, it raises an interesting question about how we read Scripture. Sometimes the focus is less on giving a single, clinical account and more on conveying what happened from different angles.
is it true he was “cursed to wander eternally in darkness” meaning essentially his spirit was denied rest. I remember hearing this before not sure if it’s accurate.
I’ve heard that idea before too, but I don’t think the Bible actually says that.
From what I understand, Scripture describes how Judas died, but it doesn’t go into detail about his spirit wandering or anything like that. A lot of those ideas seem to come more from tradition or interpretation rather than the text itself.
It’s one of those areas where it’s probably best to stick with what’s actually written and be careful not to add too much beyond that.

This article addresses the differing biblical accounts of Judas’ death and says that they don’t have to be contradictory, but could both have happened.
