Lately my days feel packed, and I’ve realized how easy it is to drift from prayer when things get hectic. I’m curious how others stay spiritually grounded during seasons when life feels overwhelming.
Do you have practices that help you reconnect, short prayers, certain verses, journaling, a song, a walk, silence?
I’m looking for simple things that can fit into real life, not “ideal world” routines. Would love to hear what’s helped you stay centered in Christ when everything is moving fast.
I listen to scripture when I’m driving, or worship on the radio app I use. I know how you feel though. Lately it seems that we’re living at the speed of light, and everything is a blur. This was a topic of discussion in our group one night..how everyone was feeling so rushed, as if life were speeding up. I asked if anyone felt that it was satan that was causing us to feel so distracted, so rushed, so overwhelmed, and everyone agreed. That was about a year ago. Since then, I’ve had to make an effort to stay in communication all day with Him. Popcorn prayers all day long. Prayers of thanks, such as “thank you for having that driver in front of me turn left or right” lol. Or, when I wake up, seeing the sun rise and saying “good morning God”. One simple thing I read a few months back about prayer, if you’re struggling with it like I am - to start and end the day with two simple words: “Thank you”. Some days that’s about all I can muster.
And some days just coming here and reading comments, or partaking in the many discussions, can really help me to reconnect. I’m a bit isolated from other Christians here. My daily life is stuffed with family and work obligations, and I drive 3 hours back and forth between cities to be with family, work, and try to attend church in two different cities..when I can. Finding time to just read scripture is a challenge. I completely understand how you feel. As much as technology can be a pain, it’s been what helps me to stay connected. Bluetooth is my best friend. LOL I hope this helps.
