Bring legalistic and living a holy life seem to be mixed up by some Believers. Churches either harp on it or ignore it. If following manmade rules helps keep you on the straight and narrow, is bad? Or is it insisting that others follow non-biblical rules?
My boss’ mother was very devout but very dogmatic. My feeling is that she was dogmatic because she was devout; she wasn’t doing it to gain brownie points with God, but out of a sincere love. So, I guess the main thing is motive. Anyway, that’s my take.

I agree. Out of love for someone we practice praying for that person. I am labeled fundamentalist, puritan, etc
When appropriate, I explain that I would like to deserve such honorable labels, that I still don"t deserve them, but keep living for the love of my Lord
