Years ago we had a vote on our Crosswalk team on the best Thanksgiving pie. I think pumpkin won, if I remember correctly!
That’s my personal favorite, but since living in the South I have come to appreciate pecan pie as well, and that’s now a staple in my family.

Or maybe it’s not a pie at all? My mom used to make a pumpkin cream cheese roll for Thanksgiving that was delicious. That was actually probably even better tasting than any pie, but there is something about a pie on Thanksgiving for me.

For my family, the must-have is apple pie with a really buttery crumble topping. It’s the one dessert that disappears before the leftovers even make it to the fridge!
But I’ll confess… pumpkin roll with cream cheese filling might secretly be my actual favorite. There’s just something about that soft spice cake and the cold, sweet filling that feels like pure comfort.
What I love most is how every family has their own tradition, pie, rolls, soufflés… honestly, there’s no wrong answer when it comes to Thanksgiving desserts.
So true! I love attending Friendsgiving or other potluck events around this time of year and trying desserts others bring. I love how food is so often tied to tradition and how holidays like Thanksgiving give us a window into the traditions of others.
Homemade sourdough cinnamon buns. Even my family members who are on strict low carb, or carnivore diets cannot resist the ooey (is that even a word?), gooey, decadent, satisfying nomnomnomnomNOMnomnom of these. lol.
