What I have found in my own experiences is that, the more attention that you pay to Jesus, the more interesting life becomes, guaranteed.
When we pay attention to the Lord it means we are spending time with him. We are acknowledging His presence and He loves for us to spend time with Him! So naturally I talked to Him more. And listened for His answers. He began answering me, or I became able to perceive Hs voice. So it became out and out conversations with Him. It wound up with my total surrender to Him of my will. Then life got real interesting!
I could hear the voice of my Lord, literally. Life is good and interesting, and if you think He didn’t bless me for my efforts, you’d be sadly mistaken! And so life was good, financial troubles vanished (so to speak, lol) and when I had been talking to Him more and more, here comes the news, hey Stimulus checks are being sent out! Now to a guy on SS alone that’s a blessing. I decided quickly to spend it all on things that I normally can not afford. So the check came and I went out and spent it all on toys & household goods. I came back home, and life got interesting Lol! I stepped into warm water on the floor of the basement. I need a new water heater! Uh-oh, now I’m broke, I had the money this morning! Now what? a month of no hot water before I can even buy the unit, to install myself? And I was on such good speaking terms with the Lord, that I felt like, He could’ve warned me to save the money! I felt bad for a moment, sort of, mad at the Lord for not warning me? and when that hit my brain I felt something was off here. The Lord wouldn’t do that to me on purpose! So I started laughing as I realized that prayed, Lord I don’t what you’re doing here or trying to show me, so I’m just going to stand back and watch what you do with this situation…and I said it, dumped it in the Lord’s lap. Lord, you handle this, I trust you! Like I said interesting !!
The epilogue was He let me sleep on it and remained silent to me about that. The next day, I still trusted Him and didn’t let it bother me a bit. If I had to go a month without doing laundry, I’ll live through it by the grace of God…So the Lord gave me a free new hot water heater and I passed the test! Those daily tests, right? How will you react to this if it happened?!! The Lord sure does have a good sense of humor.
I try to walk with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 comes to mind: Pray constantly. What I have trouble with is boredom. I got bored sometimes before I retired. I sometimes get bored now that I am retired.
But what I think I was trying to do is find out how you go about convincing people to obey God. Why would someone want to obey God? I would argue that we obey God to stay out of trouble. But I think there needs to be more than just that.
There’s a lot more than that. Salvation isn’t the end, it’s the beginning. And we start out like Abraham, not knowing why or how we walk the path this day. I believe that the Lord speaks vaguely at times to encourage us to ask more questions, have more dialogue! I found out what happens when I speak to the Lord constantly…I run out of things to say, lol. But as it turns out, the Lord loves small talk too! At times.
For everyone it’s different. Yet it’s up to us to have meaning in life and believe that life is meaningful. The older I get the more I detest others disrespect of another’s life where as before I had more compassion today I have less about this specific situation. My situation is directed I don’t have a say but it’s not hurtful to others and it reflects Gods love for others and I’m also not to follow vices as no gossip no pride seeking etc etc etc during this time of the Lords work, I have times of work and rest ,and I have personal boundaries God gifted me with ,( others at times don’t understand) and I have to follow and if another disrespects that well I give it to God directives cause their is evil and serious harm so we cannot think if ourselves as too good because we have to deal with it and it’s not gonna work smiling forever in the face of severe harm. God is the ultimate warrior so just know that others can find this warrior side of life disturbing but no we as people have many facets. Right now I’m to rest until . I was just taking part in something during this rest until and for this season specifically I’m to protect what is Holy and seek his counsel. Now I’ve had this before but in different ways. I’m excited . Good luck to you may God bless you may you be delighted in his ways. I am to protect but also to talk about certain things as God made it clear to me people search for meaningful life and I’m to just be open about certain things so maybe they can revive but I’m not them and they are not me so I don’t or won’t go deeper only with very trusted . Anyways may God bless you and keep you. Also I find it fascinating the sanctification process that God makes know to you the theme so to speak then it just as life goes on it gets deeper and bigger and richer and more and you just know it’s him and his word
The important thing is staying connected to the Lord and being led by the Spirit. I have come to learn that spoken words are very powerful. So I’ve taken to not saying anything negative about myself or anyone, and making proclamations of God’s word. If I wake up feeling crappy, I don’t say that because it may be a curse upon me. Rather I proclaim that my healing was paid for before the foundation of the world, by the Lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world. He said, it is finished, on the cross. Everything is in place and done. All we have to do is believe enough to receive it. First we believe, not doubting, then that door opens.
Staying connected with God through His word is way more important than most people think.
May I sound a note of caution, the disciples spent three years being taught by Jesus.Three years of intense hands on teaching, from creations best teacher.
How long will you be in training for any ministry?
Are you an active member of a church that recognises your gifts and is mentoring and training you?
Think about Acts 19:13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.
