What’s a good first prayer to share with someone new to faith?

I’ve been praying about how to gently share the love of God with a close friend who’s just beginning to open up about spiritual things. I don’t want to overwhelm her with theology or church language. I just want something simple, true, and rooted in Scripture.

If you were to pray one prayer with someone for the first time, what would it be?

I’m not necessarily talking about the “sinner’s prayer,” but more like a starting point for someone curious about God’s love, mercy, or nearness.

Would love to hear your thoughts or examples. Even just a line or two that helped you once.

Why not, Lord help me to understand who you are and my relationship to you.

Good Lord, I thank you that I found you. Please help me to lead a good life with you and that I recognise your leading. Thank you that you never give up on me, even if I make mistakes.

Lord, let us run the race set before us, not in our own strength, but in the light of Your love that crowns the weary with life.
