Being a child of the 60s and 70s, life was much simpler then. Music always played a major part of my school life. I loved the glam rock era. It was around 1973 that Alice Cooper made his name over here in the UK with Schools out, which they still play at end of year school discos today. We had a great set of teachers at junior school that allowed us to express ourselves with our musical taste. Many happy memories of that era. It wasnt until around 1977 in High school that Punk Rock became popular over here. We saw ordinary teenage kids suddenly getting Mohican haircuts and sporting safety pins for ear rings. Our school clamped down hard these new fashions with quite a few pupils getting threatened with expulsion if they didnt dress properly . Happy days.
