When Do You Decorate for Christmas?

Every year it seems like people are decorating earlier and earlier for Christmas. While after Thanksgiving used to be the norm, it seems like after Halloween is now fair game!

I love Christmas and I do decorate and listen to Christmas music earlier than I used to, but I’m not in that holiday frame of mind just yet. I also prefer to extend the Christmas season to Epiphany (Jan. 6th), so I’d rather follow the traditional church calendar that way.

How about you? When do you start decorating or listening to Christmas music? I know so many people like doing it earlier these days because it’s a way to bring light, joy, and hope to the darkest days of the year.

No right or wrong answers! Just curious what others are doing!

we’ve always started after holloween but my family love Christmas

I notice the same trend. Stores seem to flip to Christmas overnight.

For me… it’s usually early December.
That’s when it feels like it has meaning, not just décor.

I like easing into Advent first, it helps me not rush past the season itself.
Once the tree is up and the lights are on, I keep them through January too. There’s something gentle about not packing it all away the minute the new year strikes.

Absolutely! That’s a perfect way to put it.
