- Acknowledge God’s Sovereign Direction: Recognize that God is the ultimate gatekeeper who opens and shuts doors (Revelation 3:7). Rather than panicking over choices, trust that He directs the steps of those who seek Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).
- Test the Doors Against His Word: A true open door from God will never contradict His moral law, His character, or the principles revealed in Scripture.
- Seek Wise Counsel: Do not rely solely on your own understanding or emotional pressure. Bring the choices before mature, spiritually grounded advisors or mentors to help test and confirm the direction (Proverbs 11:14, 15:22).
- Look for Peace and Fruit: God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). Look for the path that is accompanied by inner peace (Philippians 4:6–7) and aligns with the spiritual gifts and passions He has placed inside you .
- Take a Step in Faith: Sometimes God does not reveal the entire map until you begin to move. Commit your plans to Him, take a step of faith, and trust that His grace will either close the wrong door or sustain you in the right one (Proverbs 16:3 ).

First, welcome @faithHono7. Glad you are here. Appreciate this outline. Point #2 is particularly important: an opportunity isn’t automatically a divine ‘open door’ just because it’s available. It has to align with God’s character and Word. Good wisdom on balancing active movement with trusted counsel.
