I’ve noticed that certain Bible verses meant one thing to me when I was younger, but now — after different life experiences, they land in a deeper or different way.
Is there a verse or passage that has changed in meaning for you over the years?
I’d love to hear what it meant then, and what it means now.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
As a newly-minted Jesus Freak, I assumed that God’s Kingdom was an internal sphere of mystical experience.
I now see God’s reign at work in every sphere of life, not just the unreal / spooky / “religion” zone. And blessed are those who get in on what God is up to.
Mine is : “…and it came to pass…”
When I was younger this phrase meant “It happened one day”,
now it refers to Kidney stones.
