Who’s a spiritual mentor you never met?

Could be a writer, a pastor, a public figure, someone you’ve never met who shaped your walk with God. Who’s yours?

Bob Utley, professor in hermeneutics.

Brother Lawrence. Not good for doctrine, but a good example of faith.

Oh, such a good question! I have many since I enjoy reading older books. Madeleine L’Engle is definitely one, as well as C. S. Lewis. As far as contemporary spiritual mentors, Tish Harrison Warren, Christie Purifoy, and Karen Swallow Prior.

Who are yours?

The Apostles. The ones God Himself chose to teach us and lead us by example.

I’ve never met him, but St. Paul has taught me the most about Christ and discipleship, and Daniel inspires me with his unwavering faith in God despite trials…
I would also like to add, St. John Chrysostom, St. Basil the Great, and St. Gregory the Theologian…

CS Lewis for me too.
