Why is 🌽 so accepted on TV now?

That’s a risk of living in a society.

You seem to really not think others should not check for themselves.

Just turning off the TV is only one option. When God’s people get together against wickedness and uncleanliness they have the right to do something about it, legally that is. I’m not talking riots that the Leftist-Communists are known for. Unjust behavior is condemned by the majority in a society. A God-fearing society is not going to allow such things. So if enough God-fearing people got together to stop the filthiness, then there is no excuse if God punishes that society for it allowing wickedness to dwell among them (See Judges 19 & 20).

Again, the issue is not that I feel pressured to watch them. Kids are watching them

Have you shown your children in God’s Word where it speaks against homosexuality, as per The New Testament? Do you know those Scriptures in order to show them? They have to first learn from their parents who believe in God and The Bible that it is an abomination to God.

It seems there is a contradiction in your argument regarding how Christians should address the prevalence of these shows. On one hand, you are calling for institutional action, specifically the banning of content, to protect viewers, especially children, from exposure. On the other hand, you tell us of the personal challenge of avoiding sinful temptations while staying in a position for them to thrive.

Agreed. But the concern is they may see the shows by accent. I read on a review for Euphoria that a mom’s daughter saw it at a sleepover and was traumatized. I also saw on Becket Cook’s channel a comment from a mother saying the trailer for Heated Rivalry played at the hotel bfast room with the kids watching. Disgusting

Shane and Ilya need to be annihilated from cyberspace! (Sorry, I’m just joking, but you can see how angry I am at this show)

ā€œThe people of the world used to go to the movies to escape serious thinking about God and religion. You would not join them there, but you now enjoy spiritual communion with them in your own home. The devil’s ideals, moral standards and mental attitudes are being accepted by you without your knowing it.ā€ A. W. Tozer (died in 1963)

We dropped most of the premium networks when we dropped cable, and went to streaming.

Protesting, letter writing won’t change things, and may even help spread the word about a show. ā€œMarried with Childrenā€ was on the verge of cancellation when a campaign started, because of it’s vulgarity- the show was on for a decade after attention was drawn.

The Welsh revival began when Florrie Evans testified simply: ā€œI love Jesus with all my heartā€ Maybe that’s what all of us (myself included) need to do - turn off the TV, and tell ā€œwhat great things The Lord has done for usā€ Mark 5:19

Nothing wrong with turning off the TV. I have known some who do not own one. I’m not one of them. But we did ā€œCut the Cable.ā€ We have internet with things like Pluto, Tubi, and the like. Free TV and Movies, and we simply chose what we feel is appropriate. We still get news, local stuff, and national, although I suggest limiting that as well. If not more.

I haven’t watched TV since 2006. What I mean by that is sitting down, turn it on and start flipping through the channels as a daily ritual. In 2014, my son introduced me to Netflix. Had that for about 6 years. Netflix started getting so bad that it became visual noise while I was practicing guitar.
Toward the end, I got into a show called ā€˜The 100’ for a while until the main character who was female started sleeping with another woman. Wouldn’t watch it anymore.
Than came ā€˜Stranger Things’, and it was great up until the last episode or so where one of the kids(a girl) stated that she like other girls while being asked out by a boy. Wouldn’t watch it anymore. In fact, that’s about the time I canceled Netflix in 2021.
I finally came to the conclusion that 99% of whats on TV is utterly woke and senseless garbage. It wasn’t always like this.

No it wasn’t. Most shows these days suck you in, with a couple likeable characters, then spring p*rn, language, or ā€œalternative lifestylesā€ on you, once you get to liking the show. ā€œAll in the Familyā€ was deemed controversial in its day, and they told you in advance.

Sounds like us. We had cable. Rates kept rising. One day our cable box went on the fritz, we tried the Fire Stick, and never looked back. streaming can get just as expensive if you are not careful.

You can throw your TV out, yet many of us carry one with us everywhere we go. It would take a lot from me, but I am almost ready to re-discover the flip phone.

We should continue to speak out against these shows and how destructive they can be. Speak the word to people and show them there is a better way to live. Show our children and the next generation how important it is to watch what we view and to continue to push against the grain when it comes to what society thinks is ā€œAcceptableā€
