Why We Don't See More Of God's Power

Greetings in the Lord with His love and Peace:

The reason why we don’t see more of God’s manifested power (yoke destroying, burden removing power) is because we DON’T all speak the same thing and we all are NOT on the same page with God’s Word.

(1 Corinthians 1-10-11) I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

The reason why we don’t see more of God’s manifested power (yoke destroying, burden removing power) is because we are not pouring our hearts out to God daily and truly trusting in HIM (reference Psalm 62:8).(Proverbs 3:5-6)

The reason why we don’t see more of God’s manifested power (yoke destroying, burden removing power) is because we don’t commit our thoughts to HIM so HE can establish the works of our hands(to HIS glory and for our good, to be bless and be a blessing as unto HIM) (reference Proverbs 16:1-4)

The reason why we don’t see more of God’s manifested power (yoke destroying, burden removing power) is because we don’t yield to God’s Holy Spirit’s leading on a daily basis.

Jesus said in John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything.

Jesus said in John 16:13-15 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and He (Holy Spirit) will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from Me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from Me what He will make known to you.”

The reason why we don’t see more of God’s manifested power (yoke destroying, burden removing power) is because we don’t obey God in love and faith believing HIM to back His Word up at HIS appointed time and we try to be like Sarah, remember what her idea was to help God out because of her impatient to Wait and believe God for HIS perfect timing. (Isaiah 60:22). Read about Abraham and Sarah and see God’s timing in their lives.

The reason why we don’t see more of God’s manifested power (yoke destroying, burden removing power) is because we get so wrapped up in what we are going through instead of doing what the Lord said to do with HIS help
(Matt.22:39 & Matt.7:12)

[Deuteronomy 7:9 (NIV)
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commandments.
(We can only keep the Word of God as we YIELD to His Holy Spirit, His Word, and practice what the Word says in our daily lives. It’s more then knowing scriptures, and quoting them, it actually living the Word of God out with His divine help daily. Jesus said apart from HIM we can do nothing. Our victories come from God THROUGH Jesus)

[1 Timothy 2:5 NIV) For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.(God Almighty has given Jesus a Name that’s above every name (reference Philippians 2:8-11)

Hear, All People: The Lord our God, the Lord is one, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.(Deut.6:4-5)(Matt.22:37-38).

PLEASE listen with your hearts and ask the Holy Spirit for revelation before you respond to my post if you decide to respond. You see I don’t want to debate what the Word of God says, because for the last 20 years the Holy Spirit has been teaching me to live it out daily, and I’m still practicing everyday living in HIS love towards all people, living in HIS peace with all people as much revelations of HIS peace that I receive from HIM, living in HIS forgiveness towards people, and I get plenty of practice with His forgiveness, living in HIS longsuffering in whatever the situation may be as long as it is not abusive or harmful to me. I know God’s mercies are new every morning and by revelations I receive HIS mercy every day. I can go on and on, but I think you get the point, but if you don’t just pray about it, okay!

Blessings to you all in Jesus name

I spent a decade reading through the Greek NT once a year. As I came to see the word in context and in use, it became clear that δυναμις had nothing to do with dynamite or dynamo. A better approximation would be competence. The ability to do things. To get stuff done. Like taking the Gospel to the world, for example. The evidence that we are abiding in the Vine (Jesus) is fruit. Not nebulous mystical feel-good vibes, but solid achievement in our real-world lives.

We bring glory to God by doing stuff that is visibly useful, and esthetically pleasing. Six days a week for year after year.

Now, it takes wisdom to keep priorities in order. Billy Sunday got the opportunity to start his national ministry a decade or two early. And all it cost him was all four of his children. So many large churches are top-heavy with unemployed seminary graduates, but a paucity of skilled craftsmen.

Just to add…

When the Greek Septuagint (LXX) is examined, the word δύναμις (dunamis) appears far more frequently than in the New Testament because the translators used it to render several Hebrew terms connected with power, strength, armies, or mighty acts. The total count varies slightly depending on the edition of the Greek text used (Rahlfs, Göttingen, or other critical editions), but the word occurs roughly 450–500 times in the Septuagint. The most common underlying Hebrew words translated by dunamis are כֹּחַ (kōaḥ) meaning strength or ability, גְּבוּרָה (gĕbūrāh) meaning might or heroic power, and sometimes חַיִל (ḥayil) which can mean strength, wealth, or military force.

Because of this translation practice, dunamis in the Septuagint develops a broad semantic range that strongly shapes how the New Testament writers later use the term.

One major sense is divine power or mighty acts of God, especially in the historical narratives describing the Exodus and God’s saving acts. For example:

Deuteronomy 4:34[1]

In the Septuagint the phrase “great deeds” is rendered with μεγάλαις δυνάμεσιν, literally “great powers” or “mighty acts.” The word therefore becomes associated with the miraculous acts of God in salvation history.

A second major sense in the Septuagint is military strength or armies. The Hebrew word צָבָא (ṣābāʾ) meaning “army” or “host” is frequently rendered with dunamis, so the expression “hosts” becomes “powers” or “forces” in Greek. This usage appears in many passages describing armies or heavenly hosts.

A third sense concerns human strength or capability, particularly when describing the strength of warriors or the power of kings. In these cases the Greek translators used dunamis to convey the idea of effective strength or capability.

Because of this wide usage in the Septuagint, the word accumulated theological associations long before the New Testament was written. When New Testament authors used dunamis, they were drawing on a term already associated with

the mighty acts of God
divine intervention in history
miraculous deeds
strength or ability granted by God.

This background explains why the New Testament frequently uses dunamis for miracles and divine power, because the Septuagint had already established that linguistic pattern.

The second term, ἐξουσία (exousia), also appears in the Septuagint but far less frequently than dunamis. Its typical meaning is authority, right, jurisdiction, or ruling power, and it often translates Hebrew words connected with dominion or rule such as מֶמְשָׁלָה (memshalah) meaning dominion or שָׁלְטוֹן (shalṭôn) meaning authority or rule.

An example appears in the description of human dominion in creation.

Genesis 1:26[2]

In the Septuagint the idea of dominion is expressed with verbs and nouns related to exousia, emphasizing the authority given to humanity to rule within creation.

Thus the functional distinction already present in the Septuagint mirrors what is seen later in the New Testament.

δύναμις (dunamis) refers to power, strength, or effective capability, especially the mighty acts of God.
ἐξουσία (exousia) refers to authority, dominion, or the legitimate right to exercise power.

Because the Septuagint served as the primary Bible of the early church and the apostles, this established linguistic distinction strongly influenced the theological vocabulary of the New Testament, where Christ possesses both the authority to rule (exousia) and the power to act (dunamis).

Tribulation, persecution, suffering, testing, and hardship are normal experiences for all Christians.

These experiences refine faith, build endurance, and strengthen character.

Victory in Christ is ultimately guaranteed, but not always experienced in immediate earthly circumstances.

Scripture repeatedly exhorts believers to endure, rejoice in trials, and persevere.

Scripture rightly dividing.

J.

One hundred percent. I’m going to try to keep this short, but if you know me, well, you know. I believe that the easiest explanation as to WHY we are not on the same page or speaking the same language is that if we were, we could accomplish ANYTHING.

Paul said this in his letter to the Church at Corinth.

“I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.” 1 Corinthians 1:10

In one of Jesus’s own prayers, He prayed this.

“I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world.” John 17:23-24

We read this about the Church in Ephesians 2:19-22

“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him, you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”

Look at what happened when we were of one mind and one language. The Tower of Babel

“Now the whole earth had one language and the same words.”

Stop. Here is where you see we are all one. One race, one language. One people.

“And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”

So they understood the assignment, and interestingly, they seem to know what would happen. Read the next part carefully.

“And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.”

Stop. Did He say this is stupid. Or that they are wasting their time. Or anything else? No. He said, “And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.”

“Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. Therefore, its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth. And from there the Lord dispersed them over the face of all the earth.” Genesus 11:1-9

This is where the different languages and different races come from.

Now the devil cannot create something new. He saw this and understood why God did it. Therefore, one of Satan’s biggest achievements is to do the same with God’s chosen. Why? Because united, we could do anything.

Greetings in the Lord, Johann

Thank you for all the Scriptures on what we as children of God, belonging to God through our Saviour and Lord, Jesus, may go through. But you left out ALL the Covenant Blessings and Promises that belongs to the Children of God here in this earthly realm. For those who truly Believe that God is a Rewarder of those who diligently Seek HIM. (Hebrews 11:6).

God has promised NEVER to leave us or forsake us and I Believe HIM. I Believe that I have the Greater One, God’s Holy Spirit living powerfully in my heart, and HE’s very real, HE’s our divine Helper from God in Jesus name. (He is spoken of in the Old and New Testament of the Bible)

Jesus gave us revelation when He said in John 16:33 – “In the world you will have tribulation; take heart, I have overcome the world.”

Jesus gave us revelation of having HIS divine Peace that passes all understanding (John 14:27)

But Thanks be to God who gives us the Victory THROUGH Christ Jesus.
(1 Corinthians 15:57) I asked God for revelation on this Word, and Holy Spirit keeps giving me revelations on God giving me the Victory THROUGH Christ Jesus.

Why does being renewed in our thinking with the Word of God so important especially in the times we are living in? (Romans 12:2)

Why is it so important to Meditate on being renewed in our thinking with the Word of God? (Joshua 1:8)

Why don’t the Children of God call forth HIS Word as though it is now?
(Romans 4:17)

Didn’t Jesus, our Lord say that we will have what we say? (Mark ch.11)
Didn’t Jesus, our Lord say that we can ask the Father in His Name(Matt.18:19)
(He’s talking about asking God for what He has promised in His Word)

It is Holy Spirit that can daily give us revelations on having the Victory through the Anointed One, Jesus.
It is Holy Spirit that can make us more than Overcomers in our everyday living.
It is Holy Spirit that can reveal the Dunamis (Power, Strength) of God Almighty in our lives.
It is Holy Spirit that can help us overcome these daily trials, tribulations, sufferrings THROUGH the Blood of Jesus (Rev.12:11)

A lot of Christians fall by the wayside because they have NOT been renewed in their thinking with the Word of God and have NOT yielded to God’s Holy Spirit in following HIS leading.

I can from my own experiences of when I was doing things my way show you the difference when God gave me revelations of His Holy Spirit through Jesus and what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit.

When I was doing things my own way:
There was a constant struggle, and I mean a constant struggle.
Things were hard, people were mean, and help in the natural was seldom with
some resistance in the help. I could go on but let’s leave it there for now.

When God saved me through Jesus, and Jesus came into my heart, He start setting things in order within my heart, will, mind, emotions, and natural life. I asked God for His Holy Spirit and He gave Him to me in Jesus name.

God started giving me the victory through Jesus in LITTLE THINGS,and the encouragement from HIM became more real. He open my eyes of understanding to see His Covenant, believe Him for His promises to manifest in my natural life, He opened HIS favor to me and HE sent help to me and my family. The struggles were still there, but God gave me the Hope of Glory and His Spirit start giving me revelations of having the Victory through Jesus from God. Sincere,Fervent Prayers,Praises,Thanksgiving unto the Lord. Holy Spirit started fine tuning my listening skills to hear the Good Shepherd’s voice and to know the Good Shepherd, Jesus.

God has given me the Victories though Christ Jesus, Glory to God, and I’m still praising HIM for it.

The Father’s blessings to you and your household in Jesus name, amen

Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

I’ve not tackled the LXX yet. I’ll keep my eyes open for one during my thrift store forays. But my goodness, you have provided a weighty and well-researched comment. My understanding is enriched and my heart rises to God in gratitude.

You can access the Septuagint, the LXX, online quite easily, or if you are using Bible software you can simply download the appropriate modules, brother.

Thanks for your heart to want believers to trust God and walk out His Word daily. There are scriptures that do command us to be united as believers and trust the Lord with all of our heart. Yes Paul told believers to “let you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you” ~1 Corinthians 1:10. Also Proverbs says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” ~Proverbs 3:5.

However Scripture also teaches us that unity is only found by agreeing with the truth of God’s Word, not by everyone just trying not to disagree with each other. The apostles never were shy about correcting those who taught error so that the church would stand firm in sound doctrine. In fact Paul said an elder must grip the Word of Truth so that he may “exhort in sound doctrine, and to convince the gainsayers” ~Titus 1:9.

You are also right that the Christian life is more than quoting verses. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” ~John 14:15. The Word is meant to be lived out, not just repeated.

But please remember that God’s power is not displayed by the emotional experiences people think it is. Look what Scripture says, “For the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” ~Romans 1:16. When a person repents, believes the gospel and their life is changed, that is God’s power at work.

So I believe you have a right heart about wanting to trust God and walk out His Word everyday. Just make sure that everything we stand for is built on what Scripture does say.

Greetings in the Lord, bdavidc

Thank you as unto the Lord for your encouragement: Every Born-Again Believing Child of God’s should be motivated by LOVE(Agape). Not human love, But God’s Love that’s been shed abroad in our heart by God’s Holy Spirit. (ref.Romans 5:5)

Jesus said in John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give you, Love one nother as I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are MY disciples, by the love you SHOW to one another.

(ONLY Holy Spirit can help us daily live in the Love of God from HIM to Us,and from Us through Holy Spirit to others in Jesus name) And Holy Spirit gives me plenty of practice in walking in HIS Love towards ALL PEOPLE and that includes the ones that just want to be hateful, mean spirited, obstinate, disrespectful, cantankerous, and disobedient which I have encountered in different seasons of my love walk with the Lord. Let me tell you, it has not been easy, but God reminds me that while I was yet in sin, He loved me and sent Jesus so He could save me from myself and the sins. I’m still learning to live in the Power of HIS love for me and towards other people, all people, and to stay yielded to the Holy Spirit with fervent Prayers for All people and that includes me as well. This is daily through Faith by HIS Mercy that is new every morning which I Receive, His wonderful, amazing Grace throughout every day in which I Lean on, HIS Peace that passes all understanding because Jesus gave me HIS peace, and through HIS Strength, His Joy is my Strength).

Now David, don’t get my message wrong, I have had a lot of hurts, disappointments, misfortunes, loss of people, things, and gainsayers throughout my Faith Journey with the Lord, with many tears that I know HEsaw, has seen, and see. BUT God keeps making it Possible for me to keep my spiritual eyes on HIM, HIS Word, with the divine HELP from HIS Holy Spirit by Cleaving unto HIM daily, and I mean daily with Thanksgiving,Priase,Worship, Prayers,Quieteness, and Obedience with love, trust, and faith in Jesus name. God makes it Possible and I give HIM ALL the Glory.

God’s Blessings to you and your family for good health, prosperity, peace that passes all understanding with HS banner of Love over your household through the Blood of Jesus and in Jesus name.
