The headlines often demand we pick a side. “Stand with Israel” or “Free Palestine.” Social feeds, protests, and politicians frame the debate in stark black-and-white terms. But is that the only way for Christians to approach the issue?
Scripture tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and also to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44). It reminds us that all people—Israeli and Palestinian alike—are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). So what happens when love, justice, and truth feel in tension with one another?
Can we support Israel’s right to exist and still grieve when innocent Palestinians are killed? Can we call out Hamas terrorism and also lament the suffering of civilians in Gaza? Is it possible to advocate for security and also for compassion?
These questions aren’t just political—they’re deeply spiritual. And they’re complicated.
How should we pray when both sides include people who need the Gospel?
What does it mean to be a peacemaker (Matthew 5:9) in the middle of generational conflict?
Are we called to choose a side—or to point to a third way found only in Christ?
If we are true Christians we better be, for God is not a respecter of persons nor of one race above another but instead he sent Jesus to die for people out of all the nations and no matter what race, color, creed or religion they are either.
By the way, not all Palestinians hold to what the majority might believe or want to do and to butcher them like the Prime Minister of Israel has been doing is wicked to the core.
Furthermore, it wasn’t defenseless Palestinians who attacked Israel but rather Hamas and therefore the USA and the churches who are supporting the evil of the Prime Minister of Israel will share the guilt and punishment along with him as well.
For the truth be told, Jews who refuse to believe in Christ are much more guilty than Palestinians who refuse to believe in Christ, and for the simple fact that Jesus wasn’t sent to the Palestinians but to the Jews and the Jews even after seeing and witnessing all that he did, still refused to believe in him and the majority of them still do also.
One last thing here, what kind of witness of Christ are we giving to the Palestinians that they should stop refusing to believe in the True God and the true Christ anyhow?
In the New Testament era, God’s love extends to all nations. Jesus declared to Israel, “The kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit” (Matthew 21:43). God had always intended to bless the nations through Abraham, and Israel’s special role as a channel of that blessing was for a time — but when they failed, that mission broadened to all. Now God loves Israel just as He loves every nation. Every human being is made by God and is precious to Him. Those who harm or destroy human life are accountable for it, for God never sanctions violence against the innocent.
God does not show favoritism between the Wicked. God sets a standard for the world and none are exempt.
Let’s be clear, the Wicked to whom I refer are those responsible for murdering the innocent. And not all Pakistanians or Israelies are responsible for this. A few do great evil in the Name of God for all their people. People in Power are demonizing both Nationalities. While the innocent, people of both Nations, are caught in the crossfire and are being murdered in the process.
I have seen the videos of grieving fanilies whose fanilies were kidnapped and killed. I have seen the videos of young children starving to death. Patients killed in hospitals. Because someone wants to own a piece of land that belongs to God alone. All of this is an Atrocity before the Lord and those responsible will be held to account.
Fanilies, murdered. People without weapons, murdered. Don’t you dare tell me there is just cause. There is never just cause for any of this. It is not that difficult to learn to live peacefully together. But no. Religion does not make peace. It inspires war. Because one must be wrong in order for one to be right. Because someone has all the answers and the other person must be a complete liar.
And yet none of the behavior lines up with the Holy Spirit- That quality we strive to embody with our lives. That Spirit that says to respect your neighbors and the boundaries you share (no matter what belief, religion, race, culture, or Nation.)
Soak the land in blood, and you will be exiled. As it was in the beginning, so you can expect it now. But woe to those still chained to the land. Who cannot flee. The land may be soon covered in devastation, only a remnant to survive. And God only knows if that remnant will be survivors who manage to escape or people who have moved away before the great devastation arrives.
