Hillsdale College Online Courses

Have any of you taken one (or more) Hillsdale College online courses? Just like that coffee at church, you can partake for free, or donate to the cause, but these courses are wonderful… Many focus on constitutional issues, historical, societal and yes- political. I’ve truly enjoyed many of them and just finished one on John Milton’s epic poem- Paradise Lost. Wonderful course.

This current offering got me thinking about my youth and a particular social studies teacher I had in school. I’ve recounted the tale in another thread.

Here is a separate link and intro to Hillsdale’s latest–

In our newest course, “Totalitarian Novels,” Hillsdale College President Larry P. Arnn explores the nature of tyrannical governments through the works of George Orwell’s 1984, Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, Arthur Koestler’s Darkness at Noon, and C.S. Lewis’s That Hideous Strength.

I invite you to join us in learning the warnings in these cautionary tales to awaken the virtues of courage, vigilance, moderation, perseverance, and faith they instill.
