Yes. We will all give an account of ourselves to God (Romans 14:12, et al).
I believe it’s better to vote for a good person with whom I have serious disagreements on a few issues, even some very important ones, but who seems to really care about helping ordinary people, than to vote for an obviously immoral, lying, would-be autocrat who cares only for himself.
Abortion is a complicated issue. A large number of women have financial reasons for having an abortion, and some abortion procedures are for medical reasons because the baby has died and/or the mother’s life is in jeopardy (see https://www.verywellhealth.com/reasons-for-abortion-906589). I can empathize with those who terminate a pregnancy for financial reasons, having been severely underemployed for several years a couple of decades ago, even though my wife and I would not have chosen an abortion.
Please listen to the podcast I added the link to, if you haven’t already.
I believe it to be an unconscionable choice, and I’ll unashamedly call out Christians who profess to care, while at the same time support abortion. Let’s call it what it is. It’s infanticide. It’s literal child sacrifice, up to and including incinerating their helpless little bodies.
So should we not hold secular leaders to a high standard as well? Should we vote for a constant liar with multiple legal indictments just because he is saying what we want to hear?
Pvb. 17:7 - Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool—
how much worse lying lips to a ruler!
I did not say I support abortion. I’m saying that Trump is so crooked and morally bankrupt that I’ll vote for anyone but him. As I said, I’m registered as an independent because neither party fully conforms to biblical principles, but overall Harris appears to care about ordinary people (“love your neighbor”) and Trump only cares about himself, taking advantage of ordinary people.
Yes.
Who has lied more, Harris or Trump? (Again, Google it.)
Who has been indicted for more crimes?
Looking at 1 Timothy 3:
Which of the two has only had one spouse, and been faithful to them?
Who is more self controlled and respectable?
Who is not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money?
So if you support Trump, are you then supporting constant lies, name-calling, affairs, sexual assault, and incitement of insurrection? Brother, I’m not the only one who needs to repent.
Neil, I would add mental competence to the list, and the dangerous cult following he has amassed.
January 6th was enough to show treasonous intent on Trumps part, encouraging his worshippers to go after his own Vice President. No true patriot could have seen that shocking and dangerous display and dismiss it as many have done.
