Having prosperity and military power doesn’t mean you are a Godly nation who is blessed by God. Look at Rome and Babylon. God let them have wealth and power but they were evil empires that worshiped false God’s. All American politicians lead the church astray in one way or another. We know democrats are evil for supporting gay pride, but what about Republicans? God gives both prosperity and adversity and we dont know what will come next, yet all these politicians argue, worry, complain and boast in the economy as if prosperity comes from them. This is not faith or obedience but its sin. Economic complaints, fear, and worry shows a lack of faith in God and it dishonors God our supplier. Please stop following these politicians and stop thinking America is godly simply because its rich and powerful.
Politicians run the world. We want to elect the best ones.
@BobEstey there are no good politicians. Both democrats and republicans lead thr church astray
There are no perfect people, but I think there are politicians trying to the right things, while others just want power.
@BobEstey all politicians lead the church astray. Do you find that acceptable?
No politician is perfect, but I don’t agree with you.
@BobEstey you dont agree that its sin to fight, worry, complain and boast in the economy? Didn’t Jesus say not to worry but to seek the kingdom and God will take care of us? Didn’t James say that boasting in making money and in tomorrow is evil because we dont know what tomorrow will bring?
You dont think its wrong to be rich while 9 million people die each year of hunger and malnutrition related diseases and sometimes go without shelter, clothing, and medical care? Didn’t Jesus say the poor are blessed but woe to the rich because they have received their consolation? Didn’t Paul say desiring wealth is evil? Didn’t Paul say to follow his example? Paul wasn’t rich. Didnt Jesus say not to store wealth on earth but in heaven?
If I work hard and make a lot of money, have I sinned?
@BobEstey John said that if you see people struggling and dont help them them its not love. I just told you that 9 million people die each year of hunger and malnutrition related diseases. No one is helping them obviously. Paul said to follow his example in all things. He wasn’t rich so neither should we be rich. He teaches that the churchs should have equality by sharing instead of some being rich and others being poor. He said the rich churches should help the poor churches by giving them their excess wealth. In Africa and other places there are poor church’s and orphanages. In places like the mid east Christians are persecuted and need financial help because no one will give them work. Some poor countries cant afford to give their poor citizens medical care like in the USA
The flip side of that is that some people are unwilling to work and expect people who are willing to work to pay their bills.
9 million people don’t die of starvation and malnutrition related diseases each year because they refuse to work. But lets focus on this, Paul said to follow his example in everything. He wasn’t rich nor desired to be. He taught Timothy to be content with food and clothing and to flee from desiring wealth. He said desiring wealth errs from the faith. Jesus said not to store wealth on earth but in heaven. He said that the poor are blessed but woe to the rich because they have received their consolation.
If someone works hard and gets paid a lot, has he done something wrong?
@BobEstey the Bible said to stop overworking to be rich. It said to cease from your own understanding because riches grow wings and fly away to heaven. (Proverbs 23:4-5)
Paul said to follow his teaching and example. He wasn’t rich.
I follow Jesus’s teaching.
If you follow Jesus teaching why are you following rich politicians? Jesus said not to store wealth on earth but in heaven. He said the poor are blessed but woe to the rich because they have received their consolation. And following Jesus apostles is following Jesus. Paul wasn’t rich and he teaches us to follow his teaching and example.
Rich people provide jobs and paychecks.
@BobEstey God is our supplier not politicians. And the rich may provide jobs but they also lead the church astray and err from the faith
Does the Bible teach you to judge people?
@BobEstey I think the gays would say that you’re judging them. Are you not engaging in hypocrisy by judging others and then accusing me of judging? Jesus said not to judge in hypocrisy.
I’m not judging homosexuals and lesbians, but a pastor mustn’t give his blessing to something God has called an abomination (Leviticus 18:22).
