What i believe as a Christian AND a science believer

A lot of us have this issue with the “big bang” – that no, God created everything. But there is evidence – both scientific and biblical evidence. One thing that I’m sure of is that the Big Bang HAPPENED, but god is the person who took earth out of it’s Hellenistic age and gave it life. he created its life, not the earth itself.

As for Evolution – yes, i do believe that we were all once primates and we slowly evolved, but god chose us as the only species to evolve and gain consciousness. So while going from fish that travelled on land, to primates who could stand upright – god selected our ancestors to become as smart as we are today.

if you have any questions on my take on anything else, I’m an open book

So you do not believe God created the universe? and/or everything in it? Day and night? And i knew they had a tv show called the big bang theory, but i dont actually know what the Big Bang is if you would be kind enough to explain, i would be willing to listen. @Mr.max1192025

it was an astronomical event of where a nebula cloud began to flatten – using gravity and drawing space rocks in. its basically just how our solar system was formed – when a nebula cloud flattens ad spins fast enough, it gets hotter and its gravitational pull becomes stronger. starting the formation of the sun. the same process repeats for our other planets, they evolve, yadda yadda yadda.

correct me if im wrong, but the big bang was just the idea of our solar system forming from a nebula. but when it formed, it was just rocks floating around a sun. this is where my “god put life to the planets” theory.

Christianity is not compatible with this at all, from the very first sentence of the Bible.

I cant correct you on something i know nothing about. Ok so go on. How do you explain the rest @Mr.max1192025 ? What about God making the universe and day and night?

So did God make the universe and then the Big Bang came along and created our solar system and then God seen it and was like “this looks like a perfect place to start”? @Mr.max1192025 and im not being sarcastic so that you know im just trying to see what it is that you see my friend. Or did the big bang create the intire universe?

Im giving him a chance to explain is all, not like im busy doing much any way. And its nice to hear other and/or different beliefs sometimes. And it give @Mr.max1192025 a chance to conversate with others and open up.

You could of stayed around and corrected him as you felt. I just feel like thats not my place to do so, when he may know more than i do in the first place. Im old not bright lol

exactly

just to remind you, theres no specifics on exactly what heaven is. it says he made heaven and earth, right? so yes, he added life to earth as it recovered from its hellenistic age. but space isnt heaven. i like to think that heaven is inside a black hole, since no human being can go inside or see inside unless they are dead.

Correct. God said, BANG it was so. Here is the problem, just a couple with evolution. Genesis 1:1-5

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”

For those who say, “There is no God.” I’ll leave Psalms 14:1 out here for discussion’s sake. First, you have to believe that what is scientifically and mathematically impossible actually happened. You see, it really is simple, and a fact, that nothing subtracted from nothing is nothing. Nothing added to nothing is nothing. So if there was nothing, then where did the first something come from? Remember, nothing is nothing. Zero. There is nothing in zero.

Then you have to believe that this “something” most claim to believe was a single-cell organism, just appeared from nothing, and landed in a puddle of ooze. Where did the ooze come from?? But anyway, it landed in this puddle of ooze. and became all the things we have today. Forget that with our understanding of DNA, we know that we are not related to a tree. Hot-blooded, cold-blooded, Man, Fish, Birds, Flowers, and even that pesky Misquote. We all came from this one single-celled organism.

" And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Now I ask you again, where did the first something come from? How did all things come from that first something? Where did that famous and all-creating puddle of Ooze come from? “Well, we do not have all the answers yet, but there is no God.” I will show you a painting. Deny that Artist? The paint just came together, and the brush took over?

when he may know more than i do

This is the key element of what is now called science and even the university system. Science originally started as man began to study the world God created and the laws that govern its operation. This legitimacy was hijacked by Satan to confer legitimacy on all sorts of garbage.

Consider the Kinsey report. This was done under the guise of scholarship and as was the case simply accepted as truth because an “expert” had said so. Satan (who sets the course of this world) was able to establish institutions through which he could introduce his deceptions and have them taken as truth because they were put forth by experts.

never said there was no god :person_shrugging:

I’m dyslexic so correct me if im wrong, but are you trying to say that satan invented science??

I believe in interpreting science in the light of the Bible, @Mr.max1192025, not in interpreting the Bible in the light of science. Psalm 19:1-3 says,

Psa 19:1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Psa 19:2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
Psa 19:3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.

Thus, I start with what the Bible says and then praise God for the abundant evidence of his creative power and divine majesty shown in his creation, the denial of which is the basic sin of humanity, as Romans 1:18-20 says,

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
Rom 1:19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
Rom 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

As a result, the Bible as God’s Word says clearly that Adam was created as God’s special creation, not from Ape-like creatures:

en 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them…;

Gen 2:7 then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

I too am a Christian AND a science believer, but my approach makes the Bible primary and science secondary, whereas yours reverses the biblical process. Isn’t that so?

@Mr.max1192025 or anyone else. So where do dinosaurs come into play? Were they before or after Christ? And if a comet or astriod or whatever hit earth and cause an ice age and wiped out everything on earth why havent we read about it in the bible? Or is it in the bible and i over looked it?

well, they come millions of years BC, so before Christ. and they were, in fact wiped out. BUT, we have evidence of Noah’s arc – but AFTER dinosaur extinction. after the asteroid hit, water levels rose even above mountains. this is where we found trilobites and such on mountainsides. in other words, Noahs arc was more severe than the asteroid, and therefore added to the bible.

well im incredibly new to Christianity because my mom used to make me break crosses and tear up bibles. turning to religion almost feels uncomfortable with the fact of what my mom used to make me do.

Genesis 1:1

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…./NLT

That sure reads plural to me. Scripture refers to 3 Heavens. The 1st heaven is our atmosphere, the 2nd heaven is space, and the 3rd heaven is above that, likely where God dwells, the spiritual realm.

There’s no way to swallow, in the beginning there was nothing and then it exploded. That’s funny! Now there indeed may have been a Big Bang when the Lord spoke the heaven(s) and Earth into existence, but that’s where that stops. Nothing can not explode.

And evolution was darwin on too many drugs. We do not evolve in a physical way but we are here to evolve in a spiritual way.

I remember (even way before meeting the Lord) as a kid when they began teaching us evolution. We didn’t believe it then! Evolved from primordial soup? So betwixt me and my friends & classmates the joke became….we’re walking and there’s a mud puddle. Hey James, There’s your Mom !!!

i dont think drugs existed back in the 1800’s, but you do you.

im pretty sure this “explosion” is more of a metaphor. planets are created from nebulas flattening and forming stars, stars can collide and create supernovas, black holes, and eventually start space activity – where we originated from.

Science is slowly proving the Bible. They’re like, we Discovered this da da da, and if you bother to read it, that’s what the Bible was saying all along !! But we see as through a glass darkly so humankind is definitely slow learners.

I’m dyslexic so correct me if im wrong, but are you trying to say that satan invented science??

Satan hijacked it..
