In 1676, the English physician Thomas Sydenham simplified Paracelsus’ laudanum recipe to just opium in alcohol. This was very effective against pain but many looked to it for its euphoria effect. The effects of laudanum were well described in Thomas De Quincey’s classic work Confessions of an English Opium Eater. De Quincey had been introduced to laudanum in 1804 as a treatment for trigeminal neuralgia, a disease of the trigeminal nerve that runs down the face. Even mild stimulation such as brushing the teeth or exposure to the wind can trigger a jolt of excruciating pain. Little wonder that De Quincey sang the praises of laudanum, “Here was a panacea for all human woes, here was the secret of happiness.” Samuel Taylor Coleridge was also made happy with laudanum. His famous poem “Kubla Khan” about the 13th century Chinese Emperor was based on a dream he had while in a laudanum-induced stupor.
You might just be describing what happened after the Lord spoke, and He made the rules of our universe so the universe obeyed Him. I don’t know how that stuff works myself but I know the Lord does not lie and Genesis is literally true, every word. So instead of taking men’s word for it, go see what God has to say !
I would suggest reading the scriptures as much as possible no matter what anyone may think. They don’t want you to read it, there’s your first clue right there…

Since reptiles keep getting bigger the longer they live and people (presumably as well as animals) lived longer before the flood, one might image that some reptiles could get very large in 1.500 years. Also man did not have permission to eat meat before the Flood.
Didn’t you see the movie Tombstone with Kurt Russel as Wyatt Earp? In the movie, Wyatt’s Wife was strung out on Laudanum and they talk about it. That part was based on truth as I understand it.

Does the bible mention the dinosaurs? I dont remember that part. So when God made the heavens and earth did he make man or dinosaurs first? Im confused were dinosaurs before adam and eve?
@Mr.max1192025 Christian believes in a literal six days of creation, they clash with archeologists who say that dinosaurs lived hundreds of millions of years ago– much earlier than humans who God created on the sixth day. Genesis claims that the earth is only 6,000 years old. 2 Peter 3:8 where Peter writes, “with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.” So, was it a literal six days? Hopefully you or someone else can help me understand this considering you guys are talking about science and Christianity and the start of everything

Its ok my friend i dont know how to answer my question either, i just figured everyone was telling you what you believed was wrong and i hoped they would step in and help answer for you since they have all the answers. My point is no one knows everything and we can speculate all day and never be able to actually know the complete truth. That is for you to figure out on your own. You are 15 and have a whole life ahead of you, and you are on the right path with christianity. Even when you dont know the anwers to everything and something seems to me a mystery keep your faith in God and he will keep his love with you.
Instead of promoting the history of drugs, how about we push for him to learn the history of the bible or anything positive. I understand you were trying to help but really the whole drug thing was actually a useless subject that someone else brought up. He is actually 15 and doesnt need to study up on drugs but more like his science or anything else. Sorry just a suggestion my friend
Were"Dinosaurs" mentioned in the Bible? You decide…
I think that this shows a human rememberance of dinosaurs, so yes, I think we existed along-side them. What about an asteroid killing them off? Shure, coulda happened when a mile wide asteroid slammed into earth, throwing up dust, blocking sunlight for months (or years) and causing a world-wide ice age. Humans smart enough to rough it out wrapped in furs and hiding in caves (and geting called ‘cave men’ by us) is plausable I would think. It’s the concept of ‘ancient earth’ that throws it of.
So what about the timeline? What is the Concept of time to God? Literal 6 days? Lets look…
Plenty of time for things to play out the way God saw fit. All I know is if it is for me to know, I will find out when I get to Heaven.
The two creatures in question are the Behemoth and Leviathan. The first is mentioned in Job 40 when Job was “contending “ with the Lord and God was proving His sovereignty over all things. “Look at Behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. What strength it has in its loins, what power in the muscles of its belly! Its tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of its thighs are close-knit. Its bones are tubes of bronze, its limbs like rods of iron” (Job 40:15-18). Even though we don’t call any creature today by this name, one can see how there might be another animal that it is close to in description (hippopotamus or rhinoceros perhaps?)
Then there is the Leviathan which is mentioned in Psalm 74:13-14 in speaking of God: “It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters. It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave it as food to the creatures of the desert.” And again in Psalm 104:25-26 “There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number–living things both large and small. There the ships go to and fro, and the leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.” Was this just a mythical creature written about to prove a point about God’s strength?
Christians who question the existence of Leviathan and Behemoth may extrapolate to believe that since these are the only two large, strange creatures mentioned in the Bible, there were no dinosaurs. But we know there was dinosaurs we have proof.
We can’t possibly understand everything that has happened since the creation of the world since we have a finite amount of information in the Bible . A better way to approach the subject is to consider God as the magnificent creator of a universe designed perfectly to sustain life (especially human life). Meditating on this and worshiping God for His amazing gifts and grace should overshadow any debate about whether there was a Stegosaurus roaming the earth at one time (as fossils lead us to believe). The Bible calls us to fix our eyes on Jesus, “the author and perfecter of our faith” who died for our sins so that we would never be separated from God. Belief in dinosaurs need not undermine that most important fact in all of history which forms the core of Christian doctrine. @d-o.o-b@Mr.max1192025

thank you, its just hard for me to stay faithful after being raised by satanists and cultists, idk something about the lifestyle my mom pushed on me made it hard for me to turn to christianity despite me knowing that jesus was real.
Ok i understand what you have been through but you have a mind of your own now. You get to make mental decisions on your own, no one can control what is in your mind but you. It is different when you are really young because you dont know any better. But once you learn the truth it is up to you to follow it. You know the difference between a satanist and a christian so you get to chose which one it is you want to be. No one else can make that choice for you. That is satan telling you it is hard for you to turn to christianity, because honestly it is quite simple. You dont have to be any certian type of person to be a christian, you dont have to have any qualification of any kind or anything. You just have to bring you as you are and give your life to our savior. @Mr.max1192025 its that simple my friend. Leave your past in the past and move forward with your new life with your new self. Perhaps this might help to explain the the ‘big bang’ theory for you. I personally do not believe in it, nor do I promote it, but I do think everyone of the Christian faith should be aware of its underlying principals so they may weigh it against the words of the Bible.
I dont believe in it either, but my beliefs are not everyone elses. The more i learn the more i really dont know what my beliefs are anymore. Im going to go back to living in my shoebox and not worry about learning anything outside of what i know. i dont want to stop believing in certain things and the more i think about everything the more i doubt those beliefs so….
